Episode #192 – Ryan Buell
Today during our extended free talk period, we discussed how Bobby met a Bible thumper named Chad recently on Right Left Turn Radio and ended up inviting him to appear on today’s show to continue their debate. We also got into the ongoing gay marriage freak out among conservatives and recounted our visit to the Toledo Astronomy Club’s stargazing session.
We did not go to break as usual. We were originally supposed to have Chad on to discuss Bible prophecy and contradictions at this point but, since he dropped out 30 minutes before airtime, what we did instead was play some of the segment from the episode of Right Left Turn Radio they were on together. Bobby also got into the prophecies and contradictions they were to debate today. We got theological, y’all.

We then took a break and came back with Ryan Buell. Because the purpose of Strange Frequencies Radio is to help foster communication between believers and skeptics on a variety of issues, we invited the star of A&E’s Paranormal State on for a chat. Along the way, we discussed how seldom skeptics and believers communicate, why if Ryan doesn’t have a lot of trust in EVP and psychics so many EVPs and psychics appeared on the show, and Ryan’s beliefs about the middle ground between science and religion. It was an interesting interview that will hopefully allow the listener to see Buell as more of a human being and not just a guy who was on a crummy television show, though we definitely told him we didn’t like the show )or any of he others). There were certainly disagreements between us, but the importance of honest and respectful communication hopefully shines through.
