SFR 381: Conventional Wisdom

–The Republican Convention included a lot of interesting moments, but it’s overall theme was basically fear. Fear immigrants, fear terrorists, fear your neighbors. Just be afraid, and then vote for your Savior, Donald Trump.
–Alex Jones crashes the set of the Young Turks, which eventually leads to Cenk Uygur hulking out.
–Stuff We Like, a new segment where we talk about something we enjoy that isn’t normally discussed on SFR. Bobby kicks it off by talking about his obsession with shaving soaps, and how much he enjoys a good manicure. Jason briefly discusses his love of Young jasonbobbyAdult novels, and how he is currently reading RL Stine’s Fear Street series, as well as some choice selections from the catalog of Christopher Pike.
–Hillary Clinton chooses the safest possible pick, Virginia senator Tim Kaine, as her Vice Presidential nominee. What are the pros and cons of this decision?
–Looking ahead to the Democratic Convention, we can foresee a couple spots where Trump will attack Hillary. When the dust settles, will she stop Trump’s momentum?
–A few unplanned thoughts on a recent publicized police shooting and Black Lives Matter.
–A local abduction and murder touches Bobby’s family. What happened in the case of Sierah Joughin?
–What are you up to tonight? Bobby will be watching Preacher, which Jason hasn’t embraced yet. Jason does, however, have a big night of television ahead of him, watching WWE Battleground and checking out the new episode of HBO’s The Night Of.

About Jason Korbus

Friend, family member, possible werewolf. I co-host Strange Frequencies Radio, blog at Confidential Korbus, and generally walk among the weird. When I'm not doing busywork, I can usually be found with my nose in a book, my eyes glued to a glowing screen, or my ears tuned to The Ramones.
