–Four black suspects are being charged with a hate crime after binding and restraining a white mentally disabled young man, beating and cutting him, yelling racial insults, and streaming it all live on Facebook.
–Can (or should we?) separate art from the artist who creates it? For instance, is it okay to enjoy the Cosby Show, even though Bill Cosby is probably a rapist? Does Casey Affleck deserve Oscar consideration despite settling a sexual harassment lawsuit?
–Popular YA novelist SE Hinton has come under fire for not having black or gay characters in her books, with “regressive leftist” types saying she is racist and homophobic, and Hinton now feeling as if she is under attack for being heterosexual.
–The cable news landscape shifts a bit as former Fox News personalities Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Susteren have left for NBC and MSNBC, respectively. Tucker Carlson will be moving his show to fill Kelly’s timeslot.
–We look back at the beginnings of Strange Frequencies Radio, and talk about the 8 year journey we have taken to get to where we are. Also, a few thoughts on where the show will go from here.
