–What is a “woo woo” topic that, while you don’t believe in it, you would nevertheless like to explore further and take part in? We had lots of great responses from our Facebook friends, where it ran the gamut from past life regressions to UFO hunting.
–Bobby can’t quite give up the ghost, still being intrigued by the potential of life after death, though he admits he would be a really crappy ghost hunter these days. Jason chose transcendental meditation, not only because of the claims of “yogic flying,” but because so many celebrities (much like Scientology) are proponents of it. But he’s not about to plunk down so much money on something he’d end up snickering at.
–Why did Elon Musk called a Thai cave diver a “pedo”? Because the cave diver told him to shove his tiny submarine up his ass! That sounds like a punchline, but no, that really happened! With the threat of a lawsuit and the loss of investors looming, Musk apologized. Still, we cover the story and decide that, ultimately, people just need to be kinder to each other.
After the break, we are joined by parapsychologist Loyd Auerbach. Though we are admittedly skeptical of paranormal phenomenon, Auerbach is one of our favorites, and a guy we definitely looked up to in our own ghost hunting days. We talk to Loyd tonight about whether popular media depictions of parapsychological research help or hinder respectability, what makes the paranormal so compelling despite many not believing in it, and common mistakes ghost hunters are (still) making, even after all this time. It was a fun, but all too short conversation, and we hope to have him back again someday.
