–There are only two live shows left after this one, but damn it feels good to be back on a Saturday night! Sitting in with us tonight is our good friend, Aaron Stein, known popularly in the SFR chatroom as PseudoJew.
–Last Sunday night saw the debut of “Preacher,” a series based on the cult hit comic series. Jason was a fan of the Garth Ennis work, Bobby knew next to nothing about it going in, and together we give our review of the pilot episode.
–Tonight we’re tossing back bottles of Smith & Forge hard cider. Jason, who doesn’t like beer, explains why cider is not just manly, but the manliest of all alcoholic beverages.
–What was truly the Crime of the Century? So many to choose from, be it the kidnapping of the Lindbergh baby or the murders of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. But another famous case, that of the 1924 Chicago thrill killing of Bobby Franks by the duo of Leopold and Loeb, has stood the test of time as well. Bobby thinks Bonnie & Clyde should make the list, while Aaron mentions the very interesting case of the unknown hijacker known only as DB Cooper.
–After a brief time out of the studio, Bobby returns with a spray bottle full of water to tell us he is having a panic attack. Aaron starts to feel strange as well. Is it possible this is contagious?
–Destination America may possibly be the dumbest channel in history. Yet, Jason still just had to check out a recently debuted series called Ghost Brothers, in which three black friends check out haunted hotspots. Is it scientific? Hell no. Is it entertaining? It can be.
–Aaron talks about how he was influenced at one time to become a “Junior ghost hunter,” and decided to check out the cellar where he lived. He ended up freaked out over kid toys and writing on a door.
–Bobby asks Aaron about his belief or nonbelief in ghosts, God, and…Hillary Clinton?
–What does Memorial Day weekend mean to you? Are we too quick to automatically call soldiers “heroes” simply because they are wearing a uniform? What about police officers, firefighters, etc? Jason explains why he respects them, even if he knows there are some it is difficult to consider heroic.
–SFR will return Sunday, June 5th.
